Moments where you felt like a failure

Post  dabestgamer on 2011-08-20, 22:30

When my gut tells me the opponent has a counter and I don't listen... and I walk right into it.

...or...

...when my gut tells me the opponent has a counter... and I listen... and realize it was never there to begin with later.

Any such scenarios with you guys?

If Mirror Farce has not been played yet I always play like it is face-down (depending on if they have face-downs, I have Stardust,etc.). You never want to get too reckless with certain cards in place. I have gone against this little rule of mine a few times and immediately regretted it. Losing all your monsters at once is never fun. If I have 7 tools or Trap Stun (heck even Judgement), I will take the risk if it means doing tons of Damage. It is like, you know they have Mirror Farce face-down (you just have this feeling), but you feel obligated to attack anyway just for lulz, then you end up regretting it. You just feel like a big failure.

Also, playing a small monster when losing in-order to start a play (junk, debris, etc.), then your opp drops a Veiler on you and you are stuck with this small monster in play, potentially meaning game. I hate that.

You knew it would happen but you did it anyway!

I feel like a failure whenever I don't follow my gut to negate an effect.
Then two seconds later the field is flooded with shi-en, karakuri and whatnot.

Forgetting that my own Blade Knight had the effect of negating flip effects while he's my only monster. Got hit by a Morphing jar when i had less than 5 cards in my deck. Boy, was I angry after I read his effect more closely!! Mad

Oh, and having 3 Stardust Dragons and 1 Red Dragon Archfiend, only to have my opponent grab Archfiend with his Dark Necrofear. Crying or Very sad

Should I really start?

Using Debris to summon Dandy then using Monster Reborn to summon Sangan(even tho I originally wanted Ryko and go into Trish) I summoned Spell Striker and when I tried to overlay I realized I don't have any Xyz left in deck.

or this one.
My opponent has Scrap Dragon on the field and nothing else.

In hand I had Dark Hole and Dark World Dealings and Beiige.. On field I had Goldd. So instead of being normal and bouncing Goldd for Grapha and than using Dark Hole. I screw it up royally I normal summon Beiige, bounce it for Grapha and than realize Grapha is 1000 short. So I end up nuking the field of Grapha and my Goldd to get killed by Dragunity Legionare.

Always running into Gorz when you have the feeling it is in their hand. They have one card in hand and it has to be Gorz at the worst possible part of the duel.

This is also when you have Solemn Warning in your hand and know it would be safer to wait next turn to attack for game.

IRL, forgetting to chain Threatening Roar to something that destroys backrows.
Playing Book of Moon on an opponent's Morphing Jar that was under my control, in response to them activating Giant Trunade, effectively allowing them to +5 when they attacked their own Morphing Jar. Epic fail right there.

EDIT - More than once, not using D.D. Crow to stop opponent's Pot of Avarice, the first time I didn't even know it could be used in that way.

I have a tendency to get my traps mixed up.
Solemn Judgement =/= Solemn Warning =/= Dark Prison.
One game my opponent ended up getting both Shi-En and Naturia Beast on field. I let it go thinking my face-down was a Dark Prison. It turned out that it was a Warning. Would have won me the game -_-

Also, forgetting how bad Acid Golem really is. I also mixed up my face-down Judgement for Warning, and paid 4k to negate something. Then I burned myself to death with Golem. That was pretty bad.
